Guillermo Gudiño (b. 1981, Mexico) received his BFA in Visual Arts and Filmmaking from UNAM (Mexico) and his MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
He is the recipient of the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship, the Merit Scholarship from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, a fellowship from FONCA (Fondo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes) and a fellowship to do the Terra Summer residency in Giverny, France.
Working in a broad range of mediums including photography, installation and video, Gudiño explores the dislocation of an event with its representation. His work questions the validity of what we accept as a legitimate experience.
Gudiño's work has been exhibited internationally in solo and group exhibitions and has been selected twice for the National Meeting of Young Art (Mexico). Guillermo Gudiño currently lives and works in Berlin.
